what is involved?
This course typically take 2 days to be completed and is divided into three sections. Throughout the course, you’ll learn the basic fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You will also earn a PADI Scuba Diver limited certification that is recognized worldwide!! You earn this rating by completing three confined water dives, three knowledge development sessions and by making two open water dives in some of the favourite dive sites around the Perhentian Island.

what can i do when i get certified?
As a PADI Scuba Diver you are trained to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor
or Instructor to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet. PADI Scuba Divers have more theoretical background and better developed waterskills than Discover Scuba® Diving participants, however, they are not qualified for independent diving. At any time in the future, you can also upgrade your certification to PADI Open Water Diver and become a fully certified diver!

course prerequisites
Minimum age: 10 year old
*10 to 14 year olds will earn PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification.
Prerequisite certification: None
Medical Fitness: Be able to answer NO to all medical questionnaires on the PADI Medical Statement. If there is a YES, must get approval from a licensed physician before any inwater training.
Swimming ability: Must be able to float comfortably at the surface which is too deep to stand for at least 10 minutes.
