what is involved?
This course typically take 3 to 4 days to be completed and is divided into three sections. Throughout the course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You will also earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification that is recognized worldwide!! You earn this rating by completing five confined water dives, five knowledge development sessions and by making four open water dives in some of the favourite dive sites around the Perhentian Island.

what can i do when i get certified?
As a certified PADI Open Water Diver you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independently of a professional, rent and buy scuba diving equipment and obtain tank fills. You can also enroll in PADI Continuing Education Programs such as the PADI Adventure Diver or the PADI Advanced Open Water course to sharpen your skills and learn much more!!

course prerequisites
Minimum age: 10 year old
*10 to 14 year olds will earn PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification.
Prerequisite certification: None
Medical Fitness: Be able to answer NO to all medical questionnaires on the PADI Medical Statement. If there is a YES, must get approval from a licensed physician before any inwater training.
Swimming ability: Able to swim (without swim aid) for at least 200m or 300m using mask, snorkel & fins and must be able to float comfortably at the surface which is too deep to stand for at least 10 minutes.
